It is easy to get there and the drive is scenic. In town, there is some street side parking, or better, park your car at the public parking lot on Makawao Avenue. All shops are in walking distance.
Choose detailed driving directions below:From Kahului:Take Hana Highway (Rt. 36) towards Hana. Turn right at the intersection of Haleakala Highway (Rt. 37) and go up the hill for about 11 miles. Turn left at the first light onto Makawao Avenue. After about one mile there is public parking on the left. From Paia: At the intersection of Hana Highway (Rt. 36) and Baldwin Avenue turn up the hill on Baldwin. Continue on this scenic winding road for about 12 minutes. Turn right at the four-way intersection. The public parking lot will be to your right. From Haiku: Get on Kapakalua Road going West. Follow this road with its hairpin turns to Makawao. Go straight at the four-way intersection and park your car at the Makawao public parking lot. From Kula: Get on Kula Highway and turn right at the Pukalani/Makawao intersection onto Makawao Avenue. After about one mile there is public parking on the left. | |
